The session was chaired by Mr Jospeh Lalhunmawia, Chairman, Disaster Management Committee followed by Greetings from Dr R Lalnunthara, Principal Hatim who welcomed the resource person and the audience. Mr Lalthabuanga, ASI Lunglei Traffice Police was the resource person for the awareness program who engaged the students with a comprehensive discussion on road safety.

He drew attention to prevalent violations often overlooked in daily life, such as driving under the influence of alcohol, underage driving, riding without helmets, use of modified silencers, unnecessary honking, distracted driving due to mobile phone usage, improper use of indicators, disregard for traffic signals and zebra crossings, unsafe maneuvering at junctions, improper passenger pick-up and drop practices, challenges of hill driving, and the absence of proper mudguards in two-wheelers.

The session was further enriched through the screening of awareness dramas and video clips that vividly illustrated the consequences of negligence on the road. To encourage active participation, an interactive quiz session was conducted, and prizes were awarded to the winner.

The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. R Lallianzela, the Program Officer, NSS Unit, followed by a group photograph and refreshments.

The campaign was both informative and impactful, leaving the students with a deeper understanding that road safety is a shared responsibility that begins with individual awareness and action.
